House Painting in Mahikeng

What to know locally in Mahikeng
Painting contractors in Mahikeng often work on public buildings in Mmabatho and the town centre, where flat concrete roofs need waterproofing and walls need repainting to a written specification. Homeowners in Montshiwa and Lomanyaneng ask for full exterior painting after building or extending. In the heat, crews start early and avoid painting walls in full afternoon sun. Ask whether the contractor carries public liability cover and has done similar work.
Mahikeng walls, roofs and weather
Mahikeng is the capital of the North West, and a good share of painting work here comes from government buildings, offices, schools, clinics and the university campus in Mmabatho. Around them are older town houses near the historic centre, 1980s homes and flats in Mmabatho, and growing areas of RDP houses and self built homes in Montshiwa and Lomanyaneng. The climate is hot and dry for much of the year, with strong sun that fades colour and dries paint fast, and summer thunderstorms with some hail. Dust settles on walls and roofs. Government departments, contractors on public tenders, landlords and families extending their homes ask for painters and paint most.
The requests we see from Mahikeng usually come from:
- Schools, churches and public buildings: church manses, caretaker houses and staff housing repainted on one contract
- Homeowners: the family home repainted inside and out in one planned job with one guarantee
- Builders and developers: renovated houses repainted inside and out before handover to the buyer

House Painting usually suits whole houses: walls, ceilings, trims, roof edges, done like this: outside first in dry weather, then indoors. For schools, churches and public buildings, the biggest group here, that usually means church manses, caretaker houses and staff housing repainted on one contract. On the weather side: hot dry sun most of the year; summer storms and some hail, paint in cooler hours.
